ABC Notation is an easy to write music notation which can be converted into sheet music or audio tracks.

The ABC Music standard 2.0 (draft IV, 14/8/2003) is an unofficial specification supported by abcMIDI and The ABC Plus Project. The documentation distributed with abcm2ps is in plain-text files. Abcm2ps and its documentation is distributed under GNU General Public License Version 2.
